Medical Assistant (MA) - OBGYN
About The Position
The Medical Assistant supports OBGYN patients and clinic operations at the Highland Park, Illinois location. The role includes welcoming and escorting patients, recording visit information and vital signs, and providing front-office support as needed. Phlebotomy and injections may also be required. The position is full time, with weekday hours between 6:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. and rotating Saturday hours from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Travel to other sites may be required based on department needs. On-the-job training is provided to candidates without previous medical assistant training or experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
- One year of work experience.
Nice To Haves
- Graduation from an accredited medical assisting program.
- Medical Assistant Certification from AMT or AAMA.
- Previous experience working in a medical office or related field.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and escort them to an exam room.
- Document vital signs, allergies, medications, and the reason for the office visit.
- Provide front-office support as needed.
- Measure basic vital signs, including blood pressure, height, and weight.
- Perform phlebotomy and injections when required.
- Travel to other sites based on department need.
