About The Position

The Medical Assistant prepares patients for examinations and assists clinical providers by obtaining and documenting vital signs, medical and social history, and chief complaints. The role performs clinical tasks within the scope of the employee’s certification and under physician supervision. This position is on-site and requires travel to Cherry Hill, Mullica Hill, and Woodbury Heights.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or Virtua Health Medical Assistant Program.
Current Medical Assistant certification or registration. In Delaware, certification is required within one year of hire.
BLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

0–2 years of similar experience in a medical office is preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for exams by obtaining and documenting vital signs and chief complaints, getting patients ready for provider exams, and preparing exam rooms based on the chief complaint.
Perform phlebotomy and obtain specimens for processing.
Administer vaccines and complete required documentation.
Perform diagnostic tests, such as EKG and pulmonary function tests, as directed and under physician supervision.
Screen and direct patient calls according to established protocols.
Contact patients about prescriptions and test results as directed and under physician supervision.
Perform and document daily regulatory testing to ensure clinical equipment is accurate and compliant.
Maintain par levels of clinical supplies at the facility.
Perform front desk duties as directed, including patient registration, billing, and appointment scheduling.
