About The Position

Urban Health Plan is hiring Medical Assistants for its Internal Medicine–Adult Medicine department. The Medical Assistant supports a dynamic team of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other providers delivering quality healthcare. The role supports patient care, clerical duties, and laboratory activities. This position is based onsite at the Bronx Community Health Center, El Nuevo San Juan, with shifts between Monday and Friday, either 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., and rotating Saturdays. When working a Saturday, the employee receives a day off during the week. The stated compensation is $23.00 per hour.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Medical Assistant certificate or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
1–2 years of related experience in the healthcare sector.
Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency.
Flexible work schedule availability.

Responsibilities

Prepare examination rooms, stock inventory, and sterilize instruments.
Obtain vital signs, chief complaints, and medical histories, and accurately record information in medical records.
Assist providers with all aspects of exams, treatments, and procedures.
Register patients and verify their demographic information.
Schedule appointments and recall patients for required services.
