About The Position

APPS Paramedical’s Georgia office is seeking medical professionals to perform insurance examinations for applicants seeking life, health, or disability insurance. Independent contractors complete exams at clients’ homes or offices, using their medical knowledge and working with minimal supervision. Depending on the exam, appointments may include blood draws, medical histories, signatures on packets, vital signs, saliva samples, and 12-lead EKGs, and can last from 15 minutes to a little over an hour. Contractors must follow compliance and safety policies and procedures and handle client information accurately and confidentially.

Contractors set their own schedules and choose the ZIP codes in which they work. Exams are offered seven days a week throughout the year, and APPS schedules appointments. A six-hour orientation verifies skills and introduces contractors to the paperwork and website. Reimbursement is up to $25 per completed case, based on performance, and is paid every two weeks by direct deposit.

Requirements

• At least two years of phlebotomy experience.
• Familiarity with taking vital signs.
• Familiarity with tablets, computers, and scanners.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Self-motivation, attention to detail, and organization.
• References will be checked, and applicants should expect a background check and drug test.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with pediatric and geriatric patients or home health.
• EKG experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certificate.
