About The Position

HealthFirst Family Care Center, Inc. is offering a full-time, in-person, paid Medical Assistant training program. This program includes both classroom and clinical training, preparing participants to take the National Healthcareer Association’s CMAA (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant) exam for certification. The program involves 16 weeks of paid coursework and a 100-hour paid internship at HealthFirst. Participants must commit to a 2-year work commitment upon acceptance. Successful completion does not guarantee employment.

Requirements

Must be 18 years or older
High School diploma or equivalent is required
Must submit a resume that includes a brief statement explaining why you are interested in becoming a medical assistant
Provide 3 references
Possess a clear background free of criminal offenses
High level of customer service and a positive approach to working with patients
Ability to maintain an organized work area and work collaboratively as a member of a team
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Time management skills to effectively communicate with patients
Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner
Ability to handle stressful situations
Uses sound judgment and confidence
Ability to multi-task
Detail-oriented and accurate
Able to sit at a computer for an extended period of time
