About The Position

Adventist Health Reedley is hiring a Medical Assistant for its Parlier Medical Office. The position performs non-invasive, routine technical support services under the specific authorization and supervision of a licensed physician, podiatrist, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, or nurse midwife. The clinic is located at AHMO Parlier, 155 S. Newmark Avenue, Parlier, California.

Adventist Health Reedley serves California’s Central Valley through a 49-bed acute care hospital and 60 clinics in 27 rural communities, providing primary and specialty care. Associates must receive required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter where applicable; medical and religious exemptions may apply. Requirements

• High school education, GED, or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy.
• Facility-specific BLS certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy.
• Receive required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter where applicable; medical and religious exemptions may apply.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent combination of licensure and experience.
• Successful completion of audiometry and vision training, or a CHDP certificate, within six months of hire.
• Phlebotomy certificate.

Responsibilities

• Set up exam rooms and check in patients.
• Maintain a patient recall system, including a continuity of care log for lab tests, referrals, and transfers.
• Obtain vital signs.
• Report significant findings and pertinent patient observations to the clinic physician.
• Perform venipunctures as ordered.
• Perform audiometry and vision testing.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
