Medical Assistant (Outpatient), Oakhurst Medical Office (Full-Time, Day Shift)
About The Position
Performs non-invasive, routine, technical support services under the specific authorization and supervision of a licensed physician, podiatrist, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or nurse midwife. This full-time, day-shift role is based at the Oakhurst Medical Office in Oakhurst, California. Adventist Health Reedley serves the Central Valley through a 49-bed acute care hospital and 60 clinics in 27 rural communities, providing primary and specialty care. Adventist Health is a faith-based, nonprofit integrated health system serving communities on the West Coast and Hawaii. Associates are required to receive all required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable. Medical and religious exemptions may apply. Requirements
- High school education, GED or equivalent is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification from an approved vendor, per Adventist Health policy, is required.
- BLS certification from an approved vendor, per Adventist Health policy, is required for the facility.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or an equivalent combination of licensure and experience is preferred.
- Successful completion of audiometry and vision training, or a CHDP certificate within six months of hire, is preferred.
- Phlebotomy certificate is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Set up examination rooms and check in patients.
- Maintain a patient recall system, including a continuity-of-care log for lab tests, referrals and transfers.
- Obtain vital signs and report significant findings and pertinent patient observations to the clinic physician.
- Perform venipunctures as ordered.
- Perform audiometry and vision testing.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
