About The Position

Performs non-invasive, routine, technical support services under the specific authorization and supervision of a licensed physician, podiatrist, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, or nurse midwife. The position is at Adventist Health Sierra Vista, a 162-bed acute care facility in San Luis Obispo, California. Associates must receive required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter where applicable; medical and religious exemptions may apply. Adventist Health participates in E-Verify.

Requirements

• High school education, GED, or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy for the facility.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent combination of licensure and experience.
• Successful completion of audiometry and vision training, or a CHDP certificate within six months of hire.
• Phlebotomy certificate.

Responsibilities

• Sets up exam rooms and checks in patients.
• Maintains a patient recall system, including a continuity of care log for lab tests, referrals, and transfers.
• Obtains vital signs.
• Reports significant findings and pertinent patient observations to the clinic physician.
• Performs venipunctures as ordered.
• Performs audiometry and vision testing.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
