About The Position
Spectrum Healthcare Resources is hiring a Medical Assistant for the Urgent Care Unit at Fairfax Health Center in Fairfax, Virginia. The role provides direct patient care in an outpatient setting, supporting the well-being of patients and working under the supervision of a licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician. The position is described as an employee role and offers a flexible schedule: two 13-hour shifts during week one and three 13-hour shifts during week two, Monday through Friday. The employee may be asked to work occasional Saturdays from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. to cover staffing needs. Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- At least 2 years of experience.
- Maintain BLS certification from the American Heart Association or the Red Cross.
Responsibilities
- Schedule appointments and answer the phone.
- Assist the physician with procedures.
- Collect urine specimens in accordance with state regulatory requirements and record urinalysis results in patients’ charts.
- Complete patient paperwork accurately.
- Perform daily reconciliation and handle some medication stocking.
