About The Position

Corewell Health is hiring a Medical Assistant for its Urgent Care Beltline Care Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The role is part of the clinical support team and works closely with other healthcare professionals to help deliver patient care. The urgent care unit is fast-paced, serves a diverse range of patients and needs, and offers a continuously changing work environment. Corewell Health operates more than 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, spanning primary care and specialty practices.

This is a full-time, day-shift position with 36.75 scheduled hours per week. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is available to external applicants and current CHW MA Apprentice students only. Required certifications must be obtained within the stated timeframes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills training, or at least one year of experience working specifically as a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic, or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with the Medical Assistant scope of practice.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days.
• Obtain one of the following certifications within 120 days: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), or NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA).
