About The Position
MainStreet Family Care is seeking an energetic, fast, and friendly Medical Assistant to support patient care at its Jasper, Georgia clinic. The role assists on-site providers with patient intake, assessment, treatment, and discharge across the company’s urgent care, primary care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine services. Medical Assistants work a rotating schedule of four days one week and three days the next, including every other weekend, for seven workdays in each 14-day period. Clinic hours are subject to change.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
Nice To Haves
- Prior medical assisting experience or education.
Responsibilities
- Assist providers in caring for patients to support optimal delivery of medical care.
- Triage patients promptly according to clinic procedures.
- Document vital signs, weight, and updates to patients’ medical histories before each visit.
- Perform laboratory tests in accordance with clinical guidelines and provider instructions.
- Manage digital patient records and support the transition from paper records to electronic systems.
- Prepare examination rooms for appointments and ensure they are clean and ready.
- Administer prescribed medications under provider supervision.
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
- Position patients for x-rays according to provider directives.
- Help monitor and manage medical inventory when needed.
