About The Position
MainStreet Family Care is seeking an energetic, fast, and friendly Medical Assistant to assist the on-site provider with patient intake, assessment, treatment, and discharge. The organization provides urgent care, primary care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine services. This PRN role requires schedule flexibility and may involve travel to other clinics as needed. Clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. MainStreet and KidsStreet clinic hours are subject to change. The position begins at $15 per hour. Pre-employment background checks and drug screenings are required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications, such as Word and Excel.
- Flexibility with scheduling for PRN work.
Nice To Haves
- Prior medical assisting experience or education is beneficial but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist providers in caring for patients to support optimal delivery of medical care.
- Triage patients promptly and according to clinic procedures.
- Record vital signs, weight, and updates to patients’ medical histories before visits.
- Perform laboratory tests in accordance with clinical guidelines and provider instructions.
- Manage digital patient records and support the transition from paper records to electronic systems.
- Prepare examination rooms for appointments, ensuring they are clean and ready.
- Administer prescribed medications under provider supervision.
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
- Position patients for X-rays as directed by providers.
- Help monitor and manage medical inventory when needed.
