About The Position

A full-time Medical Assistant position supporting an orthopedic surgeon in South OKC. The Medical Assistant helps the provider and keeps the fast-paced clinic running efficiently, working in both front- and back-office settings as needed. Duties include clinical support, patient communication, scheduling and follow-up, and non-clinical office functions.

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent (GED) is required.
• RMA certification is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of electronic health records, especially Epic, is a plus.
• Orthopedic experience is preferred but not required.
• Worker's Compensation knowledge is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and time management are essential.
• Reliable attendance is essential.
• Must be self-motivated and have excellent people skills.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, interview them, take vital signs, and document accurately in the EPIC EHR.
• Apply and remove casts as needed.
• Answer triage phone calls, respond to patient needs, and resolve issues.
• Schedule internal and outside testing and appointments.
• Follow up on outside testing and obtain reports.
• Work in both front- and back-office areas as needed to support efficient clinic operations.
• Complete authorizations and keep exam rooms clean and restocked.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
