About The Position
Supports the physician, manager, and team in clinical and non-clinical functions. The role performs patient-care tasks and clerical work to help the clinic operate smoothly and on time.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience as a medical assistant.
- Clinical knowledge in a medical specialization.
- Familiarity with billing and scheduling software used in automated health care systems or similar software.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
- Typing speed of 45 or more words per minute.
- Ability to multitask and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients, and external customers.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate medical materials required for patient visits.
- Prepare patient exam rooms and clean rooms after clinic.
- Escort and room patients in exam rooms.
- Obtain and record patient vitals, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and weight.
- Prepare patient injection sites for physicians.
- Assist with and apply durable medical equipment as directed by the physician.
- Administer patient education as directed by physicians.
- Assist the supervisor with daily clinical activities to ensure the clinic runs smoothly and timely.
- Accurately enter new patient information into electronic medical records (EMR).
- Accurately scan charts into the EMR system.
