About The Position

The Medical Assistant/RT or LMR assists staff and physicians by collecting pertinent patient information to help determine patients’ physical and psychological needs and identify health problems. The role performs selected treatments, procedures, and routine duties under the supervision of physicians and the Practice Manager or Practice Coordinator. It also performs required radiographic exams using general equipment. Responsibilities are commensurate with the employee’s training and demonstrated competencies. The position is with BHMG - Urgent Care Richmond and is eligible for a retention bonus for new hires who meet the eligibility criteria.

Requirements

• Medical Assistant education or experience.
• Graduate of an accredited school of LMR or Radiologic Technology.
• Active ARRT and KROC within 90 days of hire.
• BCLS certification.
• Medical Assistant experience with LMR or Radiologic Technologist qualification.
• Knowledge of radiologic technology, x-ray imaging, digital imaging, RIS (Radiology Information System), and radiographic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with patients to determine changes in health status since their last visit, including medication changes, and record the information in the EMR.
• Help maintain cleanliness and order in the department.
• Maintain records and chart information related to individual cases.
• Perform required radiographic exams.
• Maintain efficient patient flow through exam and treatment areas.
• Obtain and record vital signs accurately and report abnormal readings as appropriate.
• Perform assigned clerical duties, including assembling patient education information, assisting patients with nutrition and toileting as needed, scheduling, and obtaining medication insurance authorizations.
