Medical Assistant/Patient Support Associate (MA/PSA) - Primary Care
About The Position
The Medical Assistant/Patient Support Associate provides clinical and administrative support to a primary care physician practice in Lake Forest, Illinois. The role includes assisting patients through check-in and check-out, supporting appointment scheduling and registration, and helping maintain an efficient patient visit. Clinical duties include documenting patient information and vital signs, taking basic measurements, and potentially performing phlebotomy and injections. The position is full-time, with rotating hours between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., rotating weekends, and travel to other sites based on department needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
- One year of work experience.
Nice To Haves
- Graduation from an accredited medical assisting program.
- Medical Assistant Certification through AMT or AAMA.
- Previous experience working in a medical office or related field.
Responsibilities
- Answer phones.
- Schedule appointments.
- Collect co-payments.
- Complete patient registration.
- Provide administrative support to the physician practice.
- Check patients in and out.
- Verify insurance.
- Greet patients and escort them to exam rooms.
- Document vital signs, allergies, medications, and the reason for the office visit.
- Provide front-office support as needed.
- Perform basic vital-sign measurements, including blood pressure, height, and weight.
- Perform phlebotomy and injections when required.
