Medical Assistant/Patient Service Specialist
About The Position
Bookmark Medical is hiring a Medical Assistant/Patient Service Specialist to support patients and providers in a relationship-focused, team-oriented care environment. The role combines front-office patient services with clinical medical assistant duties. The front-office portion includes welcoming patients, managing calls and messages, scheduling, referrals, follow-ups and copays, assisting with insurance verifications and prior authorizations, and updating patient information to support clear communication between patients and providers. Clinical duties include rooming patients, preparing them for visits, taking vital signs, updating medical histories, documenting in the EHR, assisting providers with procedures and administering vaccines, performing point-of-care testing, and keeping exam rooms clean and stocked while following safety protocols. Requirements
- Accredited medical assistant training or equivalent experience.
- Medical assistant certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of healthcare experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and check them in warmly and professionally.
- Manage calls, messages, scheduling, referrals, follow-ups, and copays.
- Assist with insurance verifications and prior authorizations.
- Update patient information and support clear communication between patients and providers.
- Room patients and prepare them for visits.
- Take vital signs, update medical histories, and document in the EHR.
- Assist providers with procedures and administer vaccines.
- Perform point-of-care testing.
- Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and follow safety protocols.
