About The Position

Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse (MA/LPN) Floater to provide clinical support across multiple Primary Healthcare Centers (PHC) locations in the Fort Oglethorpe area. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, is adaptable, and thrives in a collaborative healthcare environment. Travel between PHC locations is required based on staffing and patient care needs. Primary Healthcare Centers (PHC) is a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving Northwest Georgia since 1980, providing comprehensive medical, behavioral health, and nutritional services.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
Certification or diploma required for Medical Assistant.
Current Georgia LPN license required for Licensed Practical Nurse.
Excellent patient care and customer service skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
The ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Experience using electronic medical records (EMR) or the ability to learn quickly.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
A positive attitude with a willingness to adapt to different clinic locations and teams.
Commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality patient care.

Nice To Haves

Clinical experience preferred for Medical Assistant.
Previous medical office or outpatient experience preferred for Licensed Practical Nurse.

Responsibilities

Provide direct clinical support to providers during patient visits.
Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining medical histories, vital signs, medications, and allergy information.
Assist with examinations and procedures, including wound care, injections, EKGs, blood draws, GYN exams, specimen collection, and other clinical services within your scope of practice.
Administer medications and maintain medication sample inventory.
Collect, process, and perform routine laboratory testing.
Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked exam rooms while ensuring equipment is properly maintained and supplies remain current.
Assist with patient communication, medication refill requests, referrals, scheduling, and follow-up care.
Track immunizations and assist with vaccine inventory.
Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Follow HIPAA, OSHA, CMS, and PHC policies and procedures.
Support Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) initiatives and chronic disease management.
Float between PHC clinic locations as needed to ensure excellent patient care.
