About The Position

ChristianaCare is seeking a professional, dependable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant I for Primary Care at Medical Arts Pavilion II in Newark, Delaware. The practice includes pediatrics, family medicine, and internal medicine, serving newborns, children, and adults with services including gynecology, women's health, vaccinations, and physical examinations. The Medical Assistant I supports physicians in virtual and on-site patient care, performing clinical and clerical duties that contribute to quality care. The role greets and supports patients, prepares them for visits, performs basic clinical tasks, assists with examinations, and maintains exam rooms and equipment. It also handles electronic medical record updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, scheduling, video-visit troubleshooting, and patient portal support. The schedule is Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. No weekends or holidays are required. The hourly pay range is $19.48–$28.24. Actual pay depends on factors including skills, relevant experience, and qualifications.

Requirements

High school graduate or GED.
Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program, or current Medical Assistant certification from a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

Responsibilities

Greet and support patients virtually and in person.
Prepare patients for visits.
Perform basic clinical tasks, including testing, injections, and EKGs.
Assist with examinations.
Maintain examination rooms and equipment.
Update electronic medical records.
Manage patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling.
Troubleshoot video visits and support patient portal access.
Perform related clerical duties.
