About The Position
1st Choice Urgent Care/OccMed Connect is hiring a PRN Medical Assistant/Front Desk to float between its Oxford and Washington locations. The Medical Assistant supports patient care under the direction of the provider and performs front-desk and clinical duties. Shifts vary by location and may be 6, 8, 10, or 12 hours. The role includes rotating weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- BLS Certification is required.
Nice To Haves
- Two years of Medical Assistant experience preferred.
- Two years of experience taking vital signs preferred.
- Preferred skills include vital signs, venipuncture, injections, EKG, X-ray, and splinting.
Responsibilities
- Greet and register patients.
- Answer phones.
- Verify insurance.
- Collect co-pays.
- Room patients and take vital signs.
- Perform testing and prepare specimens.
- Perform EKGs and X-rays.
- Draw blood and administer injections.
- Assist the provider in examining and treating patients.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
