About The Position
1st Choice Urgent Care/OccMed Connect is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant/Front Desk employee. The role combines front-desk duties with clinical support in an urgent care setting. The Medical Assistant assists with patient examinations and treatment under the direction of a provider. Shifts vary by location and may be 6, 8, or 12 hours. The position includes rotating weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- BLS Certification is required.
Nice To Haves
- Two years of Medical Assistant experience preferred.
- Two years of vital signs experience preferred.
- Preferred skills: taking vital signs, venipuncture, injections, EKG, X-ray, and splinting.
Responsibilities
- Greet and register patients.
- Answer phones.
- Verify insurance and collect co-pays.
- Room patients and take vital signs.
- Perform testing and prepare specimens.
- Perform EKGs, X-rays, blood draws, and injections.
- Assist with patient examinations and treatment under the direction of the provider.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
