Medical Assistant / Clinical Assistant
About The Position
Southwoods Health is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant / Clinical Assistant in Boardman, Ohio. The role provides clinical and administrative support to physicians and helps deliver comprehensive, patient-focused care in a welcoming environment. The position follows a rotating Monday–Friday daytime schedule: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, or 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, with no late nights or weekends. The role includes patient intake and clinical support, patient and procedure coordination, electronic medical record and insurance authorization work, and maintaining confidentiality and compliance with applicable standards.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of direct patient care experience.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced clinics.
- Proficiency in medical record databases.
Nice To Haves
- Medical Assistant schooling is a plus.
- Experience as an STNA, Phlebotomist, CNA, or Pharmacy Tech is welcomed.
Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain vital signs.
- Record patients’ medications and process lab specimens.
- Schedule procedures and surgeries.
- Coordinate with surgical vendors and manage physician block times.
- Maintain data integrity in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Manage insurance authorizations.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold OSHA and The Joint Commission (TJC) standards.
