The Media Archivist Intern will assist WKRG-TV team members in processing and preserving the 70+ year legacy of News 5 coverage, providing greater access to a broad and deep wealth of recorded local stories for use by producers and enjoyment by the general public. The Media Archivist Internship provides a unique opportunity to work at a storied local television news and broadcasting operation that is migrating its vault of local news stories, newscasts, local programs, and recorded coverage of historic events to a unified, searchable electronic archive. Your internship experience could significantly strengthen your candidacy for full-time positions upon graduation. You will have the opportunity to grow your communication skills, creative storytelling skills (written and visual), and technical skills, especially in relation to video. WKRG-TV is a fun place to work, and the Gulf Coast offers many attractions for leisure time.
