About The Position

The Operations Intern will assist with providing customers transportation and logistics services under close supervision. The internship provides exposure to basic transportation management principles and participation in daily operational tasks. The position requires working 20–25 hours per week during the school semester and is based in Akron, Ohio. Compensation is $15 per hour. This position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in good standing in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited community college, college, or university.
• Able to work 20–25 hours per week during the school semester.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Willingness to work flexible hours.
• Junior or senior academic standing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure to and understanding of basic transportation management principles.
• Participate in daily operational tasks, including freight planning, asset utilization, safety management, DOT compliance, driver payroll, Customer Value Delivery, logistics management and analysis, driver supervision, profit-and-loss management, and maintenance coordination.
• Learn about industry trends and company initiatives related to driver retention.
• Perform account-specific duties as required by the customer.
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
