About The Position

The Med Tech provides quality care and services to residents and their families, including assistance with medication administration in accordance with residents’ care plans and physicians’ orders. This is a non-exempt, hourly, per-diem position reporting to the Director of Health & Wellness. The listed compensation is $22.00–$23.00 per hour. The role also includes providing resident care, maintaining accurate medical records and written documentation, and protecting residents’ comfort, privacy, and dignity. The associate must observe and report changes in residents’ physical condition, cognition, and emotional status to a supervisor, and follow HIPAA policies and applicable regulations and standards.

Requirements

Successful completion of Medication Technician training and periodic competency testing.
Ability to perform medication administration in accordance with state regulations.
Strong communication skills.
Knowledge of and ability to adhere to HIPAA policies.
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least six months of experience working with seniors in personal care, home health, hospital, or long-term care.
Ability to perform the physical duties described, including lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds and lifting and supporting residents using proper body mechanics.

Responsibilities

Administer or assist with self-administration of prescribed medications and maintain related medical records under the supervision of an RN and/or LPN.
Complete required annual medication training.
Provide resident care in accordance with residents’ care plans.
Maintain accurate, complete, and compliant medical records and written documentation.
Maintain residents’ comfort, privacy, and dignity when delivering services.
Observe and report changes in residents’ physical condition, cognition, and emotional status to a supervisor.
Work weekends and holidays.
