About The Position

At EEI, an employee-owned company, the People First culture is rooted in trust, accountability, and shared success. The Mechanical Specialist will work on the Modernization team, independently performing commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and verification of mechanical systems that support data centers and other high-reliability facilities. The role works alongside technical professionals and project stakeholders to help ensure critical facility systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. The specialist takes ownership of assigned field activities, supports functional performance testing, coordinates issue tracking, and helps move mechanical systems through startup, testing, documentation, and closeout. The work involves a hybrid mix of office and field activity, with travel varying by project and individual location. The role is primarily an individual-contributor position, though it may include day-to-day guidance, technical support, and field coordination for Mechanical Support personnel and less-experienced team members. It reports to the Mechanical Lead or assigned project technical lead. EEI is a facility and energy consulting company providing building commissioning, building performance, facility assessments, master planning, energy audits, and technical program management. Its specialty teams serve healthcare, data center, and mission-critical facilities. The company is employee-owned through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
