About The Position

Assist with complete modernizations and repairs for hydraulic and traction elevators. Work may include installing microprocessor controllers, door equipment, pumping units, hoist machines, wiring and connections, fixtures, hoist ropes, and packings. The role includes inspecting and repairing elevators and related devices to support safe, effective, and efficient operation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge and skill in using hand and electrical tools, such as grinders, drill motors, and coring machines.
• Knowledge and skill in using electrical reading and testing equipment, hoisting and rigging equipment, and chain tackles.
• Able to climb, crawl, stoop, climb ladders, and walk beams.
• Able to lift and carry tools and materials weighing more than 50 pounds and, with assistance, raise and carry items weighing 200 pounds.
• Able to work from high ladders and scaffolding and safely near moving and operating equipment.
• Available for on-call work in emergencies.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Elevator Technician degree or Elevator Mechanic License.

Responsibilities

• Complete modernizations and repairs professionally and profitably.
• Conduct elevator repairs, modernizations, and inspections to ensure effective and efficient operation and compliance with safety regulations and OSHA requirements.
• Perform annual tests to verify the proper operation of safety devices during final inspections.
• Assist in determining the suitability of existing elevator equipment, proposed modifications, and new equipment.
• Perform other duties related to the work described.
