Mechanical Lead, Capacity Delivery
About The Position
Fluidstack is seeking a Mechanical Lead for the Capacity Delivery team. This role is crucial in engineering gigawatts from drawing to energized in months, not years. The Capacity Delivery team owns technical execution across every build, including drawings, field questions, and engineering calls to keep multiple concurrent gigawatt sites moving. They engineer data centers that go up in months, not years, where rework is not an option and problems must be caught on paper. The goal is to design it once and build it a hundred times, with each site's lessons rolling into the reference design on the way to 50GW+, so each build starts ahead of the last.
Requirements
- Led mechanical engineering for data center or heavy industrial programs.
- Knowledge of liquid cooling at the design level: hydraulics, controls interface, redundancy.
- Experience making field engineering calls under schedule pressure that held up.
- Ability to manage design firms with technical authority, not just contract terms.

Responsibilities
- Own mechanical engineering across the portfolio: cooling plants, liquid loops, and airside from reference design to energized.
- Set the mechanical reference design for direct-to-chip liquid cooling and evolve it with each build's lessons.
- Make the field mechanical calls, routing conflicts, equipment substitutions, sequence changes, at build speed.
- Review consultant packages with owner-of-record rigor before they hit the field.
