About The Position

The Mechanical Express Specialist performs a variety of repairs to keep U-Haul’s fleet operating to company standards. The role uses U-Haul’s proprietary technology to assess and care for field vehicles and involves working on trucks and trailers. U-Haul provides tools and support, equipment education, and opportunities for career growth. The position is based at 40 Brainard Rd, Hartford, Connecticut, and is not eligible for employer sponsorship; applicants must be legally authorized to work without requiring sponsorship.

Requirements

• Familiarity with diagnostic tools.
• Understanding of automotive and trailer mechanics.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Repair equipment using appropriate tools and in accordance with U-Haul standards.
• Follow work-order directions effectively.
• Complete work in a timely manner.
• Determine causes of operating errors and decide on appropriate actions.
• Clearly identify and professionally communicate issues in positive or negative situations.
• Continue U-Haul equipment education.
• Provide assistance in additional areas as needed, following a supervisor’s directives and guidance.
