Mechanical Design Engineer / Creo, GD&T, ASME Y14

Global Engineering & Technology, Inc. (GET)•Albuquerque, NM
•$147,500 - $165,000•Onsite

About The Position

Global Engineering & Technology (GET) is hiring Mechanical Design Engineers to support national security work at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), checking design definition for the first new weapon system program in over 30 years. The position is 100% on-site in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Long-term travel arrangements and per diem are available subject to LANL travel guidelines. Nuclear, SSP, and NNSA experience are highly regarded. The work calls for expertise in Creo 3D CAD, hardware design and fabrication, GD&T, and engineering concepts. The engineer may guide teams with diverse backgrounds through design iterations to address potential engineering defects. Completed work is expected to meet expert standards with little direction. The role addresses complex or unique technical problems and calls for ingenuity, creativity, and independence. The engineer may mentor junior staff on model-based definition and GD&T. A current Top Secret or DOE Q clearance is highly sought after but is not required at hire. The candidate must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance. Candidates need a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Science, Math, or a related field and eight years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to mechanical design. Compensation is $115,000–$130,000 per year, depending on qualifications. Full-time employees receive benefits effective on the first day of employment, with spouse/family coverage available at a company-subsidized rate.
