Mechanical Design Engineer / Creo, GD&T, ASME Y14

Global Engineering & Technology, Inc. (GET)•Los Alamos, NM
•$147,500 - $165,000•Onsite

About The Position

Global Engineering & Technology (GET) is hiring Mechanical Design Engineers to support national security work at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in Los Alamos, New Mexico. The role supports checking design definition for the first new weapon system program in over 30 years and is 100% on-site. Long-term travel arrangements and per diem are available subject to LANL travel guidelines. The position requires expertise in Creo 3D CAD, hardware design and fabrication, GD&T, and engineering concepts. The engineer checks design definition and Creo models and drawings for form, fit, and function, including models-based definition (MBD), tolerance analysis, and compliance with applicable design standards. The work involves complex or unique technical problems requiring ingenuity, creativity, and independence. Completed work is reviewed with the expectation of expert results without appreciable direction. The engineer may guide diverse teams through design iterations to address potential engineering defects and may mentor junior staff on MBD and GD&T. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance. A current Top Secret or DOE Q clearance is highly sought after but is not required. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Science, Math, or a related field from an accredited institution and eight years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to mechanical design. Nuclear, SSP, and NNSA experience are highly regarded. The advertised annual compensation range is $115,000–$130,000, depending on qualifications. GET offers benefits to full-time employees, with spouse/family coverage options available at a company-subsidized rate. Benefits are effective on the first day of employment.
