Mechanical Design Engineer / Creo, GD&T, ASME Y14

Global Engineering & Technology, Inc. (GET)•North Las Vegas, NV
•$147,500 - $165,000•Onsite

About The Position

Global Engineering & Technology (GET) is hiring multiple Mechanical Design Engineers to support national security work at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in Los Alamos, New Mexico. This position is 100% onsite and supports checking design definition for the first new weapon system program in over 30 years. Long-term travel arrangements and per diem are available subject to LANL travel guidelines. Compensation is $115,000–$130,000 per year, depending on qualifications. The role requires expertise in Creo 3D CAD, hardware design and fabrication, GD&T, and engineering concepts. The engineer will check mechanical designs for form, fit, and function; contribute technical solutions to complex or unique problems; and work independently with ingenuity and creativity. The role may involve guiding multidisciplinary teams through design iterations to address potential engineering defects and mentoring junior staff in models-based definition and GD&T. Completed work is expected to meet expert standards without appreciable direction. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance. A current clearance is not required, though current Top Secret or DOE Q clearances are highly sought after. Candidates need a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Science, Math, or a related field from an accredited institution and eight years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to mechanical design. GET offers full-time employees medical plan options, dental insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, AD&D insurance, and a 401(k) match. Benefits are effective on the first day of employment, and spouse/family coverage is available at a company-subsidized rate.
