About The Position
Meat Clerks work in a fast-paced, multifunctional environment, independently or with others, in cool or cold areas. They help customers when applicable and handle raw meat products by wrapping, pricing, and stocking them in display cases. The role also involves operating meat department equipment, cleaning and sanitizing work areas, and completing other assigned duties. The retail store environment may range from quiet to loud, with temperatures from regular store conditions to cooler areas.
Requirements
- Be highly organized and attentive to detail.
- Have strong listening and communication skills.
- Be able to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, and twist while handling products or using equipment.
- Be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers when applicable.
- Work quickly and carefully while stocking and wrapping items at a reasonable pace.
- Handle raw meat products by wrapping, pricing, and stocking them in display cases.
- Operate meat department equipment such as an auto wrapper, scale, and slicer.
- Lift and load products weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Sweep, clean, and sanitize workstations as assigned by the Meat Staff leader.
- Clean display cases and replenish supplies when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
