About The Position

The Meat and Seafood Manager leads team members and oversees department inventory, pricing integrity, and operational processes requiring significant attention to detail. This is a fast-paced role that calls for efficiency, effectiveness, and a passion for excellence to drive results. The manager also handles and prepares meat and seafood products and convenient meal solutions, manages product quality and levels, and supports excellent guest service.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of management experience in grocery retail, restaurant, meat cutting, and/or culinary work.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow department planograms, layouts, and merchandising schematics.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must obtain The Fresh Market Meat-Seafood Manager certification within 90 days of hire.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and proactively assist them in a friendly manner, providing accurate and timely service.
• Handle, slice, cut, and trim a variety of prime and premium meat and seafood products, as well as items for convenient meal solutions, while maintaining product quality and levels in accordance with company standards.
• Make recommendations and accommodate guest requests.
• Manage order guides and ordering deadlines, and reduce shrink and damage.
• Receive and stock goods properly, following rotation standards when replenishing products.
• Direct teams in handling, slicing, and preparing specialty meat, seafood, and convenient meal solutions throughout the day.
• Engage, motivate, coach, and train team members on the job and through the company's internal training platform to provide excellent guest service safely and securely.
• Ensure Assistant Meat Managers and Meat Cutters are trained and certified.
