About The Position

The Meat and Seafood Manager leads team members and oversees department inventory, pricing integrity, and operational processes requiring significant attention to detail. The role is fast-paced and calls for efficiency, effectiveness, and a passion for excellence. The manager handles and prepares meat and seafood products and convenient meal solutions, maintains quality product levels, and supports excellent guest service.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of management experience in grocery retail, restaurant, meat cutting, and/or culinary experience.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow department planograms, layouts, and merchandising schematics.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.
• Must obtain TFMA certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and proactively provide friendly, accurate, and timely assistance.
• Handle, slice, cut, and trim meat and seafood products and items for convenient meal solutions while maintaining quality product levels according to The Fresh Market standards.
• Make recommendations and accommodate guest requests.
• Manage order guides and ordering deadlines, and reduce shrink and damage.
• Receive and stock goods properly, following rotation standards when replenishing product levels.
• Direct teams in handling, slicing, and preparing specialty meat, seafood, and convenient meal solutions.
• Engage, motivate, coach, and train team members on the job and through The Fresh Market's internal training platform to provide excellent guest service safely and securely.
• Ensure Assistant Meat Managers and Meat Cutters are trained and certified.
• Obtain TFMA certification within 90 days of hire.
