Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Valid medical license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction (Tipton area).
  • Associate-level experience in obstetrics and gynecology, with demonstrated clinical competency.
  • Strong knowledge of current obstetric and gynecologic practices, procedures, and protocols.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction and teamwork.
  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations, including emergency deliveries and surgical complications.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Malpractice insurance coverage (or ability to obtain as a locum tenens physician).
  • Flexibility to work on a contract basis with variable scheduling as needed.
  • BLS certification.

  • IUD/Nexplanon insertion/removal, colposcopy, endometrial biopsy, and NST evaluation

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care to patients in an on-site clinical setting.
  • Conduct routine examinations, prenatal care, and postnatal care.
  • Diagnose and treat conditions related to the female reproductive system.
  • Perform surgical procedures including cesarean sections, hysterectomies, and other gynecologic surgeries as required.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as ultrasounds, lab work, and imaging studies.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with nursing and support staff.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with practice policies and regulations.
  • Counsel patients on preventive health measures, family planning, and reproductive health.
  • Respond to obstetric emergencies and provide on-call coverage as scheduled.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review complex cases and improve care quality.
  • Adhere to all medical, ethical, and legal standards of practice.
  • Support the training and supervision of residents, medical students, and other healthcare professionals when applicable.
