About The Position

This is an on-site, contract position designed for an associate-level physician who is ready to make a meaningful impact in women's health and patient care. As a Locum Ob/Gyn physician, you will provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care in a dynamic clinical environment, working directly with patients, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals. Your role will be essential in ensuring continuity of care, supporting expectant mothers, managing gynecological conditions, and contributing to the overall excellence of our medical practice. This position offers the opportunity to work on-site as part of a dedicated team, with compensation structured on a yearly basis.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology (Ob/Gyn)
  • Associate-level clinical experience in obstetrics, gynecology, and/or women's health
  • Completion of an accredited residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Active and unrestricted medical license required for the on-site Rockford practice location
  • Strong clinical reasoning, diagnostic, and patient-management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site medical practice environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and accurate medical documentation
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered care
  • Flexibility to handle contract assignments, including on-call responsibilities and varying clinical schedules as needed
  • Level II Trauma, Level III NICU
  • Must be board-certified
  • Additional Certifications: CSR and DEA

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care to patients in the Rockford area
  • Perform thorough patient evaluations, including gynecological exams, prenatal assessments, and diagnostic testing
  • Manage labor and delivery, including attending births and responding to obstetric emergencies
  • Assist with and perform gynecological procedures and surgeries as needed
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient history, symptoms, and diagnostic findings
  • Document patient encounters, treatment plans, procedures, and outcomes accurately and timely
  • Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and support staff to coordinate comprehensive patient care
  • Educate patients regarding reproductive health, contraception, pregnancy, menopause, and preventive care
  • Participate in on-call coverage and provide timely care for urgent obstetrical or gynecological needs
  • Ensure compliance with medical practice policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Provide locum tenens coverage to maintain continuity of care during scheduled or unexpected physician absences
