The MCRT Triage Dispatcher for mobile crisis response is the first point of contact for behavioral health emergencies and plays a critical role in triage decision-making in accordance with established protocols and supervisory guidance. The dispatcher screens callers’ situations, determines the level of risk, manages and documents information across multiple platforms, and dispatches a mobile crisis team when screening indicates the team can accept the call. The role is part of the San Mateo Mobile Crisis Response Team, which brings crisis services to people in the community through a dedicated team of mental health professionals, involving law enforcement only when necessary. The program aims to provide safe, accessible, and compassionate support while reducing unnecessary law enforcement involvement, emergency room visits, and hospitalizations. This is a full-time swing-shift position, scheduled 11:00 AM–7:30 PM, Sunday through Thursday. The expected starting wage range is $34.82–$43.02; geographic differentials apply, and starting pay depends on relevant experience above the minimum requirements. Opportunities are contingent on applicable post-offer physical examination, tuberculosis testing, background clearances, excluded-party sanctions, and degree or license verification. If driving is required, a valid driver’s license, motor vehicle clearance, and proof of auto insurance must be provided and maintained.
