About The Position
Mathnasium is a math-only learning center serving K–12 students with personalized tutoring to help them catch up, keep up, and get ahead. Math Tutors teach students using the Socratic method and ready-made lessons, with no lesson planning required. The role includes paid training and offers a path to Lead Instructor or full-time work. Tutors work flexible afternoon shifts of 3–4 hours on at least two weekdays.
Requirements
- Strong math knowledge through Algebra I.
- Enjoy working with children.
- Pass a background check.
- Be available at least two weekday afternoons.
Nice To Haves
- Geometry or higher-level math knowledge is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Teach math from Kindergarten through Pre-Calculus, as well as SAT/ACT preparation.
- Make math engaging for groups of up to four students using the Socratic method and ready-made lessons.
- Motivate students with real-world examples and track their progress.
- Team-teach with the Center Director.
