About The Position
Mathnasium is a math-only learning center that provides personalized tutoring to K–12 students to help them catch up, keep up, and get ahead. Math Tutors teach students using the Socratic method and ready-made lessons, with no lesson planning required. Tutors work with up to four students at a time and receive paid training. The role offers flexible afternoon shifts of 3–4 hours on at least two weekdays, with a potential path to Lead Instructor or full-time work.
Requirements
- Strong math skills through Algebra I.
- Enjoy working with children.
- Pass a background check.
- Be available at least two weekday afternoons.
Nice To Haves
- Geometry or higher-level math skills are preferred.
- Prior experience is not required; training is provided.
Responsibilities
- Teach math from Kindergarten through Pre-Calculus, including SAT/ACT preparation.
- Make math engaging using the Socratic method and real-world examples.
- Motivate students and track their progress.
- Team-teach with the Center Director.
