About The Position
Mathnasium is a math-only learning center that provides personalized tutoring to K–12 students. Math Tutors help students catch up, keep up, and get ahead using ready-made lessons and the Socratic method. The role involves teaching up to four students at a time, with no lesson planning required. Paid training is provided, and the position can offer a path to Lead Instructor or full-time work.
Requirements
- Strong math skills through Algebra I.
- Enjoy working with children.
- Pass a background check.
- Be available at least two weekday afternoons.
Nice To Haves
- Geometry-level math skills or higher.
- Prior experience is not required; training is provided.
Responsibilities
- Teach math from Kindergarten through Pre-Calculus, including SAT/ACT preparation.
- Make math engaging using the Socratic method and real-world examples.
- Motivate students and track their progress.
- Work with the Center Director to team-teach.
