About The Position

HeyTutor has partnered with a school in Far Rockaway, New York, to provide high-impact, in-person tutoring to students in grades 6–8. The tutor supports groups of students without direct teacher supervision, delivers lessons using provided curriculum and materials, and fosters an engaging, welcoming learning environment. The role also includes supporting positive student behavior and participation, tracking attendance and progress, assisting with assessments when requested, escorting students on campus, and completing other assigned duties.

The position is suited to college students, aspiring educators, and education professionals seeking consistent weekday hours and meaningful work in their community. Paid training, structured curriculum, and ongoing support are provided. An in-person background check is required.

Requirements

• Completed an Associate’s degree or higher, or currently enrolled in college.
• Comfortable tutoring middle school math.
• Ability to manage large groups of students independently.
• Comfortable working in a classroom setting.
• Ability to pass an FBI-DOJ in-person background check.
• Availability required on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Responsibilities
