NYC Middle School Math In-Person Tutor '26/'27
About The Position
HeyTutor is hiring Math Tutors to provide high-impact, in-person tutoring to students in grades 6–8 at a school site in The Bronx, New York. Tutors work with groups of students, deliver lessons using the provided curriculum and materials, and help create an engaging, welcoming learning environment. The role is suited to college students, aspiring educators, and education professionals seeking consistent weekday hours and meaningful work in their community. Applicants must have completed an Associate’s degree or higher and be able to pass an in-person FBI-DOJ background check. The role requires Monday–Friday availability from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. HeyTutor provides structured curriculum, paid training, and ongoing support.
Requirements
- Completed Associate’s degree or higher.
- Comfortable tutoring middle school math.
- Ability to manage large groups of students independently.
- Comfortable working in a classroom setting.
- Ability to pass an FBI-DOJ in-person background check.
- Monday–Friday availability from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Responsibilities
- Tutor groups of students without direct teacher supervision.
- Deliver lessons using provided curriculum and materials.
- Create an engaging, welcoming learning environment.
- Support positive student behavior and participation.
- Track attendance and student progress using the HeyTutor Dashboard.
- Assist with student assessments when requested.
- Escort students to and from designated areas on campus.
- Clock in and out daily using Deputy.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
