About The Position

HeyTutor has partnered with a school site in The Bronx, New York, to provide high-impact, in-person tutoring to students in grades 3–5. Tutors support elementary school students in English Language Arts and Math using provided curriculum and materials. The role is suited to college students, aspiring educators, and education professionals seeking consistent weekday hours and meaningful work in their community. An in-person background check is required. The role offers paid training and ongoing support.

Requirements

• Completed Associate’s degree or higher.
• Comfortable tutoring elementary school ELA and Math.
• Ability to manage large groups of students independently.
• Comfortable working in a classroom setting.
• Ability to pass an FBI-DOJ in-person background check.
• Monday–Friday availability and availability from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

• Experience working with children or tutoring.

Responsibilities

• Tutor groups of students without direct teacher supervision.
• Deliver lessons using provided curriculum and materials.
• Create an engaging, welcoming learning environment.
• Support positive student behavior and participation.
• Track attendance and student progress using the HeyTutor Dashboard.
• Assist with student assessments when requested.
• Escort students to and from designated areas on campus.
• Clock in and out daily using Deputy.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.
