Math Instructor / Tutor
About The Position
Mathnasium is seeking a passionate, friendly, and enthusiastic Math Instructor to help K–12 students learn math in a way that makes sense to them. Instructors create a welcoming environment for students and families and receive training in effective math instruction. The role focuses on motivating and inspiring students, fostering a positive and productive learning environment, and building students’ confidence in the program. Instructors also help evaluate and track student progress through communication with the Center Manager and staff, and perform operational functions as needed. The position is in person and part time, with two shifts per week. The stated availability requirement is at least three days a week, with hours available Monday through Thursday, 3 PM–7 PM, and Sunday, 10 AM–4 PM. Compensation is $15.50–$18.50 per hour. Requirements
- Passion for math and working with students.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Eagerness to learn and be trained.
- Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra I.
- Ability to balance various ongoing tasks.
- Availability at least three days a week during the listed operating hours.
- Complete a math literacy test demonstrating math proficiency.
- Provide work authorization and pass a background check.
Responsibilities
- Teach or tutor in-center, online, and/or through hybrid delivery using the Mathnasium Method™, terminology, and teaching practices.
- Work collaboratively with team members to provide individualized instruction in a group setting.
- Assess students’ learning progress and engagement during instructional sessions.
- Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes.
- Help maintain a safe and professional learning environment.
- Communicate with the Center Manager and staff to help evaluate and track student progress.
- Perform operational functions as required.
