Math Instructor / Tutor
About The Position
Mathnasium of Delaware is seeking individuals who are strong in math, enjoy teaching, connect well with kids, and care about making a difference to join their founding instructional team. The role involves working face-to-face with elementary, middle, and high school students in a fun, supportive learning environment, helping them understand the 'why' behind math concepts using the Mathnasium Method™. The position requires teaching using customized student learning plans, working with multiple students while providing individual attention, encouraging students, celebrating progress, and building mathematical confidence. Instructors will also keep brief notes on student progress and collaborate with a team that enjoys math and teaching.
Requirements
- Strong in math and comfortable explaining mathematical concepts clearly
- Enjoy working with kids and teenagers
- Patient, positive, dependable, and energetic
- Ability to explain the same idea in more than one way when a student doesn't understand it
- Care about students actually learning — not just finishing worksheets
- Comfortable learning Mathnasium's instructional methods
- Show up when you say you will. Our students count on you.
- Strong upper-level students (juniors or seniors) with excellent math skills are encouraged to apply.
- College students, especially those studying mathematics, engineering, computer science, science, education, business, or other quantitative disciplines.
- Current, substitute, former, and retired teachers are very welcome.
- Commit to a dependable weekly schedule of at least 12 hours per week.

Responsibilities
