About The Position

Peterbilt Motors Company, a PACCAR company, is hiring a Materials Handling Intern to join its Materials team in Denton, Texas. The intern will work on projects and reports involving dock utilization, freight delivery optimization, delivery performance, and implementation planning. The internship is intended for a student currently enrolled in a Logistics, Business, or related program who has completed their sophomore year of college.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate current dock use and consider the best use of docks for the plant expansion.
• Develop a proposal to schedule loads and spread deliveries to improve dock efficiency.
• Evaluate incoming loads for maximum utilization and identify opportunities to consolidate shipments or reduce shipment frequency to fill trailers.
• Review DPU data, identify opportunities, and provide recommendations.
• Assist the team with developing plans for project implementations under Plan for Every Part.
