About The Position

The Material Handler safely operates a forklift to stage materials, load and unload trucks, and move materials within the plant and between departments. The role helps maintain a safe, organized, FIFO-controlled warehouse in accordance with Pregis Best Practice, and supports inventory accuracy and product preparation for shipment. The Material Handler contributes to a positive, safety-focused team environment, communicates professionally with coworkers and during shift transitions, and identifies opportunities to improve the work environment. This position works indoors in a manufacturing and warehouse environment, with exposure to moving equipment, heat, humidity, and noise. Personal protective equipment is required.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of sit-down forklift experience.
• At least 1 year of inventory control experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Knowledge of safety requirements and guidelines in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Ability to follow standardized work instructions and safe work practices in a fast-paced, continuous-improvement environment.
• Ability to take coaching well and communicate respectfully with others.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with inventory control or warehouse management software, such as SAP.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a forklift to stage materials, load and unload trucks, and transfer materials within the plant and between departments.
• Keep safety at the forefront of the team’s approach to work, communicate safety procedures, and ensure they are strictly followed.
• Help maintain a safe, organized, FIFO-controlled warehouse according to Pregis Best Practice.
• Maintain inventory by identifying and stocking materials and supplies and recording inventory locations.
• Prepare finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, and securing products in the correct location.
• Contribute to team efforts by completing related tasks and performing other duties as assigned or directed.
• Professionally communicate suggestions for improving the work environment.
• Communicate effectively and respectfully with the team, including during shift transitions.
