About The Position

The Material Handler supports manufacturing, production, and shipping/receiving functions by moving raw materials and finished products with a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) or other equipment, including a sit-down hi-lo. Driving a hi-lo is not the entire position; the employee must be willing to learn and train in other areas of the plant.

The schedule is 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, with Fridays and Saturdays as needed. Overtime is based on business needs. The work environment is usually moderately noisy. Requirements

• Experience with Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Maintain corrected vision and meet all regulatory requirements to operate a Powered Industrial Truck.
• Be willing to learn and train in other areas of the plant.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Powered Industrial Truck to move or load products and materials safely.
• Follow safety specifications, including stacking heights, seat belt use, speed limits, and signage.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings when operating a hi-lo to protect associates, products, and equipment.
• Perform battery charging and changes safely according to company guidelines.
• Stack products and materials safely in various environments.
• Perform inventory-related and/or coil-hanging functions as needed based on facility requirements.
• Work as a member of a team and identify safety and process improvements within the facility.
• Perform additional functions as directed by the supervisor or manager.
