The Massage Therapist designs, organizes, and delivers massage therapy to improve clients’ physical health by relieving stress, pain, muscle tension, and other discomforts, while working to increase flexibility and mobility. The therapist collects clinical information and contraindications, designs appropriate massage programs based on clients’ health conditions, assesses tissue lesions, and applies massage methods suited to clients’ needs and goals. During sessions, the therapist communicates with clients about pace, location, and pressure, and answers their questions. The role also includes maintaining a clean, safe, and professional treatment environment and educating clients about accurate daily body movement and exercises. Depending on location and client population, the therapist may check clients in and out and manage client payments and payment processes.
